Guam - Tamisha Fejeran has been playing baseball since she was 9 years old and continues to make strides in a sport dominated by boys. She was inspired to play baseball when she went to watch her cousin play at Paseo Stadium and saw a girl playing first base. Tamisha plays in the Cal Ripken League in Yona, where she enjoys playing 2nd base on the team.

Tamisha told KUAM Sports, "You can make double-plays and you can get runners out at the bases and you can show them that you are better than them and girls can play baseball too. It's a fun sport and it keeps you in shape and it can get you out of the house."  Tamisha has played on 3 all-star teams that went to Nevada, California and Taiwan. When she was 12 years old she played in 2 leagues, the little league and Cal Ripken League playing back-to-back games on the weekends having to balance a healthy lifestyle, school and sports all at once.

"My favorite fruit is oranges, because they keeps you healthy and it keeps you in shape. You can live longer and stay in shape and you can play as long as you can," she said happily.   Tamisha is the only girl on the team, but says that the guys treat her like she was one of them since she first joined. She hopes to one day be the first female athlete to play professional baseball.

"I want to try and go to Major League Baseball and try to play high school because I have never seen a girl play in high school.  And to play as long as I can," she said.
