KUAM's "Familiar Faces"

KUAM presents “Familiar Faces” – your chance to share the Hafa Adai spirit electronically all over the world!  We’re proudly launching our online scrapbook, for you to show off your creative side to Guamanians all over the planet, and all across the Web, featuring pictures and images sent by YOU to show the world what you’ve been up to. 

We’re providing the space…all you have to do is send us your pictures!

We want this to be a great service to our users and a fun and interactive way of sharing your life experiences with Guamanians everywhere.  Feel free to be creative!   

To make the entire process work as smoothly as possible and ensure your pictures can be added quickly, please review the following FAQs. 

Can I use Familiar Faces to connect and find people I'm related to?
You can look for people you know and are related to on Familiar Faces by searching for them in our member gallery.  When you  find a person you know, you  can subscribe to that person’s photostream through their RSS feed on their profile page to get updates on them. 

Where do I send my pictures?
Your images can be submitted to “Familiar Faces” by clicking here to get started (note: as of August 4, 2004, we no longer accept pictures through e-mail) and sending your graphics as attachments.  Questions and comments about “Familiar Faces” may be sent to webmaster@kuam.com    

I like the "old" format of Familiar Faces, why did it change?
The previous method of people posting pictures and captions to Familiar Faces worked great, but took a bit longer for people to view their posts than they were comfortable with.  So, we automated the process and now require posters to signup for free membership accounts.

Why do I have to be a member to get my pictures online?
You do not need to be a member to view Familiar Faces.  However, you do need to signup for membership to post images.  Having membership allows us to setup individual photo galleries for you, and lets you personalize your own gallery so that it's not exactly the same as the next person's.  The signup process is quick, easy, and free!

What format do the pictures have to be in?
Photos should be in “.JPG” format.  Other graphic formats (ex: .BMP, .PNG, .FLA) will not be accepted.  Please do not send images embedded within another program, such as Microsoft Word. 

What size can my pictures be?
Each image should be no larger than 400 pixels wide x 290 pixels high in dimension (400 x 290), and should not be larger than around 35Kb in file size. 

Can I include a message with my picture to my friends and family back on Guam?
Absolutely!  You may include a brief caption in the text body of your e-mail message describing your photo (who’s in it, where it was taken and on what date, etc.).  

Can I include my e-mail address and a link to my personal or organizational Webpage?
Sure!  Interactivity is what the ‘Net is all about!  If you would like your e-mail address and/or personal or organizational Website included, just add it to the text body of your e-mail message. 

How many images can I send?
Feel free to send us as many images of yourself and your family and friends as you like, however only one image per person or family will be used each week.  Also, try to limit each e-mail message to no more than 500Kb.  Sending large e-mail message increases the chance for error and could result in your pictures not been received by KUAM.COM. 

Log on often to “Familiar Faces” online at http://www.kuam.com/familiarfaces, and tune into News8 Primetime weeknights at 6PM, News8 Late Edition at 10PM on KUAM TV-8, and in the News8 Archives online to see the latest batch of “Familiar Faces”.   

We’ll do our very best to get all submissions online and on the air, so please be patient if you’re pictures aren’t immediately added.
