Michele Catahay joined the KUAM News Team in April 2007. She is a 2002 graduate of the Academy of Our Lady of Guam. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Guam, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communication (Public Relations) with a minor in English in 2006. While attending UOG, she wrote for the campus newspaper, the Triton's Call, and completed an internship on campus allowing her to write for the University Magazine in 2006. Her name is also included in the 2006 list of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges."

Prior to joining the news team, Michele was a college intern at KUAM. She also worked at another broadcasting company on Guam for a year before joining Guam's #1 news team. Michele covers a broad range of issues but is best known for her coverage of the island's Guam Public School System as KUAM's Education Reporter. She also provides weekly doses of health news encouraging residents to live healthier lifestyles with Tuesday's Health Check report.

In 2008, Michele's work was also featured in the KUAM production "Survivors: In Their Own Words", which was named that year's outstanding regional documentary, winning the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio & Television News Directors Association.
