Guam - The Guam Election Commission has launched another investigation regarding Senator Matt Rector, and whether he may have violated Guam law when accepting campaign contributions. GEC Executive Director John Blas says the Commission's attorney will determine if a $2,000 donation from the AFT-COPE is in fact the American Federation of Teachers.
Blas says the law prohibits any financial institution or labor organization to make a donation to any campaign for any election on Guam. Blas admits that the aft donation did not raise any red flags when it was first put in Rector's report.
He does say if Rector did violate the law, then the GEC will forward the matter to the Attorney General's Office for further review.
