Guam - Two adults and a minor have been arrested in connection with the murder of 31-year-old Vincent Bernardo Peredo. After nearly a weeklong investigation, the Guam Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division arrested Derrick Cruz, 18, of Santa Rita and Carl-Jerome Delorie, 19, of Yona, in addition to a 16-year-old male.
Cruz and Delorie were placed behind bars on charges of murder, aggravated assault, robbery, felonious restraint, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary, criminal facilitation and guilt established by complicity. The minor was taken into custody, but the charges haven't been released by police just yet. The three are accused of murdering Peredo, who was found lifeless in his Yona home last Monday.
Police have not revealed the motive of the murder but confirmed that the case was drug-related. Peredo was found tied up and brutally beaten.
Medical examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola said Peredo died from postural asphyxiation from significant blood loss from a massive gash in the back of his head. CID and SWAT agents executed a search warrant at a home in Yona on Saturday night and another warrant at a home in Santa Rita on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities have not said what they found at the two raids and have released no other information about the case, saying other details will be released on Monday during a press conference.
