Guam - Recent school fights posted on YouTube has prompted the Department of Education to strengthen policies dealing with mobile phones or recording devices on campus. Submissions to the popular social networking video service show students from both George Washington and Okkodo High School fighting on the school grounds last month.

GW High Disciplinary Principal Gaylene Cruz says they usually see an increase in violence around the end the school year, telling KUAM News, "For the violence I would say is it a trend; there are peak seasons and its no different from any other high school.  But we do the best we can with what we got to make sure it doesn't escalate or doesn't get to that point."

DOE Deputy Superintendent Arlene Unpingco says the students have since received disciplinary action. She adds that her agency will have to revisit the board policy regarding electronic devices on campus to prevent this incident from happening again.
