Guam - Alcohol, Firearm and Tobacco officials have joined the investigation with Guam Police and Guam Fire departments at the National Office Supply in Barrigada. It took fire officials about 10 hours last week to fight the blaze.
ATF Team Supervisor Brian Hoback says the team is looking in to the cause of the fire and where it started. He says they will offer resources once they determine that the fire was a result of a criminal act. "We are now inside the building, we are excavating and we are working our way towards an area of origin," said Hoback. "We think we have a good idea of where this area of origin is but what we don't have yet is the actual cause to this particular fire."
Hoback says they will use their investigation to help local authorities perfect a case involving any criminal acts of the fire.
Last week, Jonathan Walter Cruz, 33, was arrested on charges of aggravated arson, criminal trespass and burglary after police found him with about $5,000 worth of items from the store.
