GPA making upgrades to Anigua substation
Guam - Crews are close to completing upgrades to the Anigua Substation. A Guam Power Authority team led by acting supervisor Jerald Taitano has been performing cost-saving, preventative maintenance including refurbishing the transformer and removing oil.
Taitano told KUAM News, "We have other crews working with us. We have relay shop which is upgrading the relays for protection of the transformer and also the underground crew. They helped us hook up the cables and all the other things that needed to be done for this thing."
Taitano says the project is about 80% done. GPA also plans to perform upgrades to the Apra, Talofofo, and Hagatna substations next fiscal year.
