Navy says Fena water safe to drink
by Mindy Aguon
Guam - It may be brown, but it's safe to drink. According to the U.S. Navy, high levels of iron and manganese were found in water originating from the Fena Reservoir after planned maintenance. A release from the Navy states the water is safe to drink and meets the guidelines of the federal Safe Drinking Water Act.
While treatment procedures have been initiated to remove the elements from the water, it could take a few days before it becomes normal. Jose Rios Middle School students were released early from school today because of the water issues surrounding Fena.
