Guam - The 5th Annual Youth Summit got underway at the Harvest Christian Life Center in Barrigada. The event is hosted every year by the Education Tourism Council. According to program coordinator Joseph Certeza, students from all over the island participated today.

The summit focused on the Chamorro culture and traditions, about which Certeza said, "Storytelling was commonly used during ancient times. It was mostly from grandparent to grandchild. So we want to replicate that today, here. Today we have 420 students and for day two, we'll have 215."

Students under the WAVE program along with others who were chosen by teachers attended the conference. Kids from the secondary levels will be attending tomorrow.
