Three running for GFT presidency
Guam - Three people have thrown their hat into the ring, running for the top spot at the Guam Federation of Teachers. Sitting president who is also seeking re-election says this is the first time they've held an actual election in three years, because more than one person is actually running for the position.
"It's really important and it's very important this time because there is a clear choice between candidates and how they want to see the future of the union, if they want to see it go forward, and what they want to do to make sure we have the proper union so we can win for our families," explained current GFT president Matt Rector.
In the meantime there are also two people running for the GFT secretary post and two for treasurer. The union's election is scheduled for next Friday.
