Guam - The Navy Exchange is celebrating 65 years of service on Guam. District Manager Phil Harrison says the NEX has been an important benefit to the military and their families since 1946.

He says since then it has become a $2.5 billion global enterprise, telling KUAM News, "It was established initially on April 1, 1946 and the function has been performed since the 1800's when it started out as the original bumboats going out to the naval ships and then it just developed into this."

He says they will also be holding customer appreciation activities throughout the year.
