According to officials, the high-level briefing focused on aligning environmental protection, native species viability, and regulatory efficiencies with ongoing and future military construction and economic development.
Governor Leon Guerrero said the Mariana Islands Conservation Strategy represents a commitment to protecting the region’s environment while strengthening partnerships with federal agencies to support both defense readiness and long-term growth.
Leaders emphasized the strategic importance of the entire Mariana Archipelago — from Guam to Maug and Uracas — as discussions continue on project timelines and coordinated investments aimed at supporting conservation outcomes and military operational flexibility.
