Human remains found in Harmon
by Nick Delgado
Guam - Human remains found near the Harmon cliff line area Thursday afternoon has sparked a death investigation from the Guam Police Department's criminal investigation division. According to GPD spokesperson officer AJ Balajadia, police officers responded to the scene around 5pm. He says a couple of people were walking through the area looking for fruits when they stumbled upon what Balajadia says appeared to be human remains. He says the chief medical examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola was called to the scene earlier today. He adds investigators will have to take DNA samples from the remains to determine if it may belong to any of the individuals reported missing. Balajadia says an autopsy is not possible based on the composition of the remains.
Although he could not confirm more specifics, KUAM news has learned the skeletal remains were found beside a green GMC Jimmy Wagon. It's the exact same vehicle 55 year old Daniel Cobbs was last seen driving at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 16 in Harmon on July 13th. Cobbs was leaving the American Dialysis Center. Authorities along with several community volunteers roved the island in August searching for Cobbs or his vehicle.
Balajadia says it's too premature to determine at this time if the remains are Cobbs.
