Guam - The Guam Visitors Bureau is preparing to celebrate 50 years in 2013 and what a way to kick it off by unveiling its new corporate logo. It was in 1963 the Guam Tourist Commission was created by then-governor Manuel Guerrero.
The creation of the Commission was a step in developing Guam as a visitor destination as well as establishing an industry that today accounts for a large percentage of Guam's economy. It was in July 1970 the commission was renamed as the Guam Visitors Bureau.
May in the meantime has been declared Tourism Month.
