Guam - Members of the Guam Federation of Teachers have elected a new President to replace Matt Rector when he leaves Guam at the end of this month. Although representatives from the GFT have not been available for comment. According to Carol Somerfleck who ran for the position, she posted on her facebook page that a total of 335 members voted and Tim Fedenko received 195 votes, Ed Quintanilla received 6 votes and she received 134. According to Somerfleck's post only 335 members voted out of the GFT membership of 1990.

" I am pleased and grateful that all members had the opportunity to vote, for those whom supported my desires to change GFT, and for the helpful DOL intervention. I am of course disappointed by this loss. Over the past few years I have attended numerous General Membership meetings were there was no quorum. I had hope to bring not only member but all worker involvement into GFT." she posted on facebook.

KUAM was not able to reach Fedenko for comment.
