GEPA must rescind Taitano dump orders
by Krystal Paco
Guam - It's back to Square One, as the Guam Environmental Protection Agency must rescind all penalties on Joseph Taitano for operating a massive illegal dump site on his Yigo property. According to GEPA administrator Eric Palacios, the agency's board is set to meet next week where Palacios must rescind previous administrative penalty orders from past administrator, Ivan Quinata.
Palacios adds that the board must also rescind their actions to ensure Taitano's due process rights are granted. As we've been reporting, Taitano has yet to pay a penny in fines since his first notice of violation almost ten years ago because GEPA failed to give Taitano proper notice of hearings.
The regular board meeting is set for June 21 at 4pm in at the GEPA Main Office Conference Room in Tiyan.
