Guam - Building the private sector to hire more as well as easing federal restrictions so others may invest in the island are just some of the ideas 27-year-old Karlo Dizon presented to local Rotarians today. Dizon is running against democrat incumbent Madeleine Bordallo.

"Competition is a good thing, it drives progress forward it drives prices down it provides higher wages for the people of Guam for our community. So when I talk about our economy and the creation of competition it applies equally to politics," he said.

Dizon says Bordallo has become complacent in the last ten years she's run unopposed and that Republican candidate Frank Blas, Jr. has had no experience in an international setting. Dizon received his bachelor's with distinction in political science from Yale University and a master's from the London School of Economics. In 2008 he helped manage the Obama campaign's victory in Guam and has also interned at the White House with the Justice and Regulatory Affairs Team.
