Guam - A superior court jury found Juan Jose Torres guilty of sexually assaulting a female minor repeatedly over a three-year period.  DNA evidence helped secure the conviction as the victim left the island.

The assaults began when she was just 15 and continued until she was 18 and reported the abuse to police.  Dna samples were taken and during the trial a DNA expert came to Guam to testify that the scientific evidence was a positive match to Torres. He faces up to 14 years behind bars and will be registered as a level one sex offender.

His sentencing is scheduled for October 31.
