The Department of Corrections welcomed a new class of officers into its ranks today.  BCOT 2025-02 officially graduated during a ceremony held at the Dusit Thani Resort’s Grand Ballroom. Family, friends and department leadership gathered to recognize months of rigorous training and preparation.

Leading the class as commander was Jude V. Leon Guerrero, with Tirol D. Tacusalme serving as guidon bearer. Squad leaders included Iona B. Lizama-Evangelista, James F. Quitugua and Zyra-Lee R. Nacario — each guiding their respective teams through the academy.

The graduates completed intensive instruction focused on security operations, inmate supervision, emergency response, and professionalism within Guam’s correctional system.

Department leaders say the new officers step into their roles at a critical time, helping strengthen staffing levels and reinforce safety inside correctional facilities.

The class motto — “Rise Together, Conquer Together” — reflects the unity and resilience they carry forward as they begin their service to the people of Guam.
