The U.S. Centers for Disease Control will conduct the 2026 National Immunization Survey in Guam from April through June. And the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services asks for the public’s cooperation should they receive a call from survey administrators, the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago, as the data collected is important for assessing Guam’s vaccination response rate.

The NIS is a random-dial telephone survey used to assess immunization coverage among children 19 to 35 months of age, and adolescents ages 13 to 17 – as well as to identify groups at risk of vaccine-preventable diseases, to provide feedback to improve immunization coverage, and to evaluate the effectiveness of programs designed to improve immunization coverage, and to evaluate the effectiveness of programs designed to increase vaccination rates.

Parents or guardians can expect a phone call from these numbers, during which they will be asked to provide information on the date and type of vaccinations given to their children.

And at the end of the phone interview, NIS will request parental authorization to contact the child/children’s vaccination provider by mail to verify vaccination records.

All data collected will be submitted back to the CDC for analysis.
