Gas tops $6 on Guam as drivers pay up to $40 more per fill-up since Iran conflict
Drivers across Guam are paying sharply higher prices at the pump after another overnight increase pushed gasoline above $6 per gallon and diesel above $8.
Prices posted late March 13 at stations operated by Mobil showed $6.079 per gallon for regular, $6.469 for premium, and $8.049 for diesel.
Earlier this week, prices were $5.329 per gallon for regular, $5.719 for premium, and $6.549 for diesel, reflecting another sharp jump in just a matter of days.
Before the escalation of the Iran conflict, prices on Feb. 26 were $4.879 for regular, $5.269 for premium, and $5.349 for diesel.
That means drivers are now paying about $1.20 more per gallon for gasoline and $2.70 more per gallon for diesel since the conflict began.
For someone filling a typical 15-gallon tank, that translates to about $18 more for gasoline and more than $40 extra for diesel compared with prices before the conflict.
This is the fourth surge in gas prices on Guam since the US-Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28.
