The Governor’s Office is responding to growing concerns over the Department of Revenue & Taxation’s system issues and its relationship with a technology vendor.

Officials say taxpayer information remains confidential and under government control—adding that any vendor involved does not own or have rights to that data.

The administration says its priority is clear: ensuring the system works—while protecting taxpayers, maintaining control, and holding all partners accountable.

For now, leaders say they are not assigning blame as the situation continues to be reviewed.

As we reported on Monday,  in a public notice issued March 21, Rev & Tax confirmed that licensing and support services for the portals expired at the end of Fiscal Year 2025 on September 30. Despite the lapse, the systems remained operational for about six months before being taken offline.

They add they are working with all parties to restore system stability and reliability—promising a full review and transparency once the issues are resolved.
