DOA starts distribution of unclaimed tax refund checks
Guam - The Department of Administration started the distribution of the first batch of unclaimed tax refund checks today. DOA director Benita Manglona says operations went smoothly at the Treasurer of Guam with many residents showing up early to claim their refunds. She does advise recipients that there is a process depending on how long the refund check has gone unclaimed.
She told KUAM News, "If it's less than a year, they have to bring proper identification and then they can pick up their check, but for those that are over a year, there's a more lengthy process, they have to bring proper documentation and then there's a form completed and goes through the processing phase."
DOA is distributing unclaimed tax refund checks for those with last names beginning with "A" through "F" this week. Unclaimed tax refund recipients with last names beginning with "G" through "O" will be published this Friday, whereas those with last names beginning with "P" through "Z" the following week both in the Proa newsletter.
