There are now six teams vying for a seat in Adelup as Senator Therese Terlaje and Senator Sabina Perez announced their bid for governor and lieutenant governor on Friday.

“Today I am formally announcing that I am running for Governor, answering the compelling call by many in our community to fight for Guam in these extremely challenging times. I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me as senator and pledge to continue to work hard to earn your trust as Governor,” Terlaje said.

“I am proud to be joined by Senator Sabina Flores Perez (Cabesa, Gollo) as my running mate for Lieutenant Governor. Sabina brings a record of strong leadership, policy expertise, and a thoughtful, disciplined approach to long-term, systemic solutions. As a former teacher, she is committed to building a sustainable island where our children can thrive,” Terlaje added.

“I am excited for the change that our team can bring. Now more than ever, Guam needs leadership that stands up for what is right, acts with integrity, and makes decisions based on what is good for our people,” Perez stated.

Their priorities include “taking a stand against corruption to bring immediate change to our government, and urgent relief for the everyday person,” adding “together we will work for your interests, not special interests. We offer the truth, hard work, and a commitment to Guam that cannot be bought.”

Terlaje and Perez added this is “a defining moment to change the course of Guam’s future, and we humbly ask you to join us and for your vote. A vote for us is a Vote for Guam.”

Under the Democratic ticket, Terlaje and Perez will be going head to head with Senator Joe San Agustin and former senator Dwayne San Nicolas and Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio and Senator Tina Muna Barnes.

Under the Republican ticket are team Vice Speaker Tony Ada and businessman EJ Calvo, Speaker Frank Blas Jr. and former GCC President Dr. Mary Okada.

Jeff’s Pirates Cove’s Jeff Pleadwell and Beans and Barrells’ Charlie Hermosa have also announced their bid for Adelup as independents.
