Guam - Before parents and Headstart students, Governor Eddie Calvo proclaimed October as Head Start Month.

Parents who qualify for the Head Start Program are urged to take an active role in their children's education and instill in their children the value of education by giving them the opportunity to excel early in their lives. Governor Calvo stated that the most critical years of a child's development are the early childhood years and that getting a head start in education is proven to help students reach success all the way to the college level especially when family is involved.
