Jury selection held for Chad DeSoto trial

Guam - Jury trial and selection kicked off today for the man accused of killing three Japanese tourists and injuring several others more than a year ago.
Chad DeSoto pleaded not guilty by reason of mental illness, disease or effect for aggravated murder and attempted murder charges. DeSoto allegedly drove a car down a Tumon sidewalk where he ran over several tourists in his path and stabbed several others. DeSoto has undergone two separate psychological evaluations but the findings are not available to the public. He could face life behind bars if convicted. Jury selection is anticipated to run for the rest of the week.
