Guam - With the world keeping a watchful eye on the Ebola virus, doctors here at home are doing their part to prepare.
On Sunday, the Guam Medical Association will host "Ebola virus disease: preparation and training for healthcare providers and responders."
GMA member Dr. Vince Akimoto welcomes all physicians, nurses, and health professionals to attend.
"In addition we're going to be getting updates, on November 9, what are the latest recommendations for the private sector, the private clinics on how to deal with Ebola cases. We certainly would like to interface with public health and the hospital. It's their choice attend and help us make this happen," he said.
The event features Hawaii's Dr. Evan Ewers and A. Christian Whelen.
The training will run from 10 to 2 at the Hyatt Regency Guam. To RSVP, call 483-6600.
