Joan Aguon Charfauros first joined the KUAM News team in 2010 as an associate producer. Currently the news director and executive producer, Joan also contributes feature stories for Primetime and special series pieces.

Joan was a radio personality with her own morning show for three years. For several years worked for several print media on Guam to include the Pacific Daily News and Guam Business Journal. She did a brief stint with the Government of Guam in 2018 as a communications specialist before returning back to KUAM.

A series that Joan has done for several years during April to recognize Autism Awareness month is what she finds most memorable. She had the opportunity to sit down with parents whose child/children fall on the spectrum and learn about the challenges and milestones and what the family endures emotionally, physically, and mentally.

Along with producing the midday show- the Hot Spot and Local Music Mashup, Joan also covers events on the military bases (Touching Bases), the local art community, the Guam Fire Department and sponsored series content on everything from breast cancer awareness to earth month.

When she is not working, Joan spends quality time with her husband, Ray and their four fur babies: Cece, Butters, Indigo, and Biscuit.
