A group of about 20 US airmen are right now on in-room self-quarantine at the Guam Reef Hotel in Tumon.
Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association head Mary Rhodes confirms with KUAM that the airmen recently rotated in for "mission-critical" deployment to Guam.

A spokesman for Andersen Air Force Base tells KUAM "inbound members of the 506th expeditionary air refueling squadron are being placed on restricted movement at Guam Reef Hotel in Tumon. In accordance with DOD and GovGuam policy guidelines, the squadron will act accordingly to protect themselves and comply with the 14-day restricted movement.”

Rhodes said that the 506th has been staying at the Reef for several years as part of an agreement with the hotel, but a small group of airmen rotated into deployment and they are on "in-room self-quarantine," but since they are mission-critical, they are allowed to go from the hotel to work. The airman arrived on Guam at Andersen Air Force Base.

Rhodes said the self-quarantined group of airmen is staying in a different tower from other airmen. She adds that there is a "specific self-quarantine floor for them.”
