Expect increased day and night activity at Andersen while Navy conducts landing practice
Expect an increase of activity at Andersen Air Force Base beginning today while the U.S. Navy conducts Field Carrier Landing Practice.
The operation will take place for the Navy to qualify the pilots of Carrier Air Wing 11 for underway carrier operations. All training, both day and night, will be conducted at Andersen AFB, according to a Joint Region Marianas release.
This routine training is required to prepare the pilots of the fixed wing aircraft (F/A-18E, F/A-18F, EA-18G, E-2C and C-2A) attached to USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) for operations at sea aboard the carrier. During practice there will be increased operations at Andersen AFB.
