Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CARES Act) U.S. Public Law 116-260, the U.S. Department of Education (US-Ed) awarded the GDOE with $110,563,287 through the ESF II-SEA Grant to address the impact of the Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the island’s education system.  The GDOE supports eligible participating PreK - 12 public, private non-public, and charter educational institutions.

The GDOE ESF II-SEA grant funds will continue to support the three areas of priority based on the approved May 2020 CARES Act, GDOE ESF-SEA Certification and Agreement:

1) Student and employee health and safety;

2) Expansion of distance and modified learning platforms; and

3) Mental, social and behavioral health and wellness support

These informational and input sessions will outline the purpose of the ESF II-SEA allowable use of funds and provide parents and community stakeholders an opportunity to ask questions and provide input directly to the district office on the three identified priority areas.
