There's been another break for the hard-hit unemployed. The newly-signed Biden recovery plan waives income tax on up to $10,200 in pandemic unemployment assistance. Guam Department of Revenue & Taxation director Dafne Shimizu says they're still sorting out the options for affected taxpayers who've already filed their returns.

"There is nothing that prevents taxpayers from filing an amended return, we do not dictate that. We will be working to put out some level of guidance as soon as we are able to. We're in discussions with the IRS about that," she stated. "Again, that's one thing that happened last week that came out of the American rescue plan, this $10,200 in now non-taxable unemployment compensation."

Also, Shimizu wants to make clear that while the income tax deadline has been extended to May 17, this only applies to individual filers  - not for businesses.

They still have to file by April 15.
