Today is the last day to comment on two military buildup projects under the programmatic agreement, however, those submitting comments discovered the email address provided by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command public affairs was not working.

Prutehi Litekyan - Save Ritidian learned of the error as it urged residents to submit comments.

“We are deeply disappointed that the email is suddenly failing the day of the deadline for public comments," member Maria Hernandez said. "Numerous community members have taken time to submit comments and their emails are bouncing back."

Late this afternoon, NAVFAC a response was issued:

"We are aware of the issue regarding the email address for the public to submit comments. This is an IT technical matter that we are looking to
resolve. Please be advised that we anticipate extending the comment period and will inform the public via a separate press release of an alternate
email address for submissions."

According to NAVFAC, the projects under the comment period will design and construct two buildings: J-011 Base Administration and Communication Building is a multi-story concrete building; J-025 Medical/Dental Clinic is a separate multi-story concrete building located south of the Base Administration and Communication Building. Both buildings are located in the main cantonment area of Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz previously prepared for vertical construction by J-001B Utilities and Site Improvements.

According to Prutehi Liteyan, the two projects directly impact ancestral burials and the ancient village of Maguåk (Magua).
