Lt. Gov. Josh Tenorio was many other island residents today at the University of Guam Field House receiving his second dose of the COVID vaccine today.

"It's very relieving," he said. "But, I'm more excited to see all the people around me that are choosing to get vaccinated. And, I think we're keeping up with the demand."

And with May 1 coming up in just a bit, Tenorio gave us an update of where we stand on the path to half.

"I think we're already at 27 percent fully vaccinated and first shots, we're already going, I think, more than 45 percent," he said. "So, I think things are looking good. There's a smooth operation. I think it was Tuesday, there was some long lines, some people, more people came. But, I think the Guard made some adjustments and they're definitely able to handle. I think they're able to handle 2,000 people a day, So I think it's great."

Sitting in a packed vaccination clinic, Tenorio says he's glad more people are joining the VacciNation.

"It is a choice right? But, I think with more and more people seeing more and more of their friends and family members, I think they're encouraged," he said. "I see a change and I see people being interested in getting vaccinated, and I'm hoping that spirit is going to extend to everybody. There'll be some that might not want to, but I think as we go on, this is gonna be the key to saving our island."

Administering the dose to Tenorio was Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero.
