The Office of the Attorney General held a joint press conference with the Guam Police Department this morning to release more information about the arrest of 23-year-old Nicholas Wayne Moore in the state of Florida.

A U.S. Marshals Service task force in coordination with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office picked up Moore, who is from Guam, in Panama City Beach.

GPD Chief Steve Ignacio confirmed that his capture is in connection to the murder of 27-year-old Michael Castro who was reported missing last November. He was also linked to a separate attempted murder case. The chief, however, said the two cases were not connected.

Moore will be extradited back to Guam. According to Chief Prosecutor Basil O’Mallan he will first appear in the District Court of Guam to answer to a federal warrant and then be prosecuted locally.

Because of the active investigation GPD and the AG’s office provided limited information regarding the case and the relationship/connection between Moore and Castro.
