After serving 31 years in the US Army, Colonel Ronnie Delfin has retired. Delfin's retirement ceremony was held at the National Guard Bureau in Washington. It was presided over by Major General John Adonie, Deputy Director of the Army National Guard.

In a statement to KUAM News, Colonel Delfin said "I've had the privilege of serving with some of the finest soldiers in the greatest Army in the world. The leadership experiences and the lasting friendships will remain with me for the rest of my life. As I take off this uniform, I am confident that those who remain behind me are the finest our nation and island have produced. I owe everything to my family, mentors and friends who have taught me so much and supported me on this journey."

"And finally, obviously, we all know that for every great soldier's career, there's a great spouse behind it, a great family behind it," Delfin said. "So I can't thank my wife enough for putting up with me, especially over the last couple of years. Sometimes it's a stressful environment that we work in and you dealt with all that. You've dealt with me being away while taking care of the kids.

"I can't thank you enough for all that you do, I love you."

Although not specific, Delfin said he is looking forward to the next chapter in his life.

Delfin is married to Joy Pineda and they have a 11-year-old daughter, Alexia Joy and 8-year-old son Luke Mason.
