45-day comment period opens for another marine base project
Navy Announces 45-Day Comment Period for PA Memo
Supporting Marine Corps Relocation to Guam; Deadline Mar. 21
You can now review and submit comments on the Programmatic Agreement memo for another project supporting the marine base location to Guam.
Projects J-014 (Physical Training Complex), J-035 (Education Center), J-318 (Public Works/Maintenance Shops), and J-323 (Base Motor Pool) will conduct design studies and vertical construction to support future operations of Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz. Vertical construction refers to the construction of buildings or structures within graded areas prepared by the J-001B Utilities and Site Improvement Phase 1 project. In locations with shallow soils, buildings and structures are typically built directly on top
of bedrock following horizontal construction, or clear-cutting and leveling the ground to prepare for vertical construction. In areas with deeper fill material, stable foundations, such as pilings or footings, must be constructed to support buildings. The projects are located at Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz within the Finegayan area of Dededo, Guam.
This is a 45-day public comment period and interested members of the community may submit comments via email to [email protected].
