In regional headlines, Northern Mariana Islands Governor Ralph Torres declined to comment on recent news of at least one of his cabinet members being subpoenaed by the FBI to testify before a grand jury in federal court related to the Imperial Pacific International Best Sunshine Casino. It’s been three years since the FBI raided NMI Governor Ralph Torres’ office, home, and brothers' law firm, and the offices of IPI. Regional correspondent Thomas Manglona questioned Torres this hursday morning.

"I do not want to talk. I do not want to talk about that one," Governor Torres said when KUAM News approached him for a comment on the matter. He further replied, "I do not want to talk about that," when asked if he is aware of any other people involved.

Governor Torres refused to comment on the ongoing investigation, apparently linked to the origins of the exclusive casino deal. It’s yet to be seen what the federal grand jury will decide.
