A trifecta of heavy hitters from the National Association of Realtors met with our real estate community about emerging trends, macroeconomic concerns and the importance of their work.

John Sebree, the California Association of Realtors CEO, said about innovation ventures undertaken by the organization, "There's a lot of rental activity happening in the United States and we've invested in some new rental technology that property managers can use – almost like the MLS of rentals."

The trio met with not only the leadership of the Guam Association of Realtors, including KUAM's own Liz Duenas, who serves as the group's president, but they also had an audience down at Adelup with Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero and Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio, discussing with them the state of the island's real estate market and regulatory policy surrounding it.

Federal programs and advocacy manager Kristian Hoystradt added, "The thing we keep hearing from realtors is the need for constant supply and how bad it impacts portability. And so my role in the National Association of Realtors, I serve as the liaison between our realtors in the States and our policy team and lobbying teams in DC, and making sure that the voices here in Guam are being heard in the halls of Congress in Washington, D.C."

They also got facetime with local realtors about their thoughts and opportunities in this critical segment of Guam's economy. NRA Vice President Ziggy Zicarelli explained the group's commitment, stating, "Whether it be on Guam or in the mainland, is the code of ethics that realtors live by. I think first and foremost that's critical to all of us."

The leaders left today, having met with many members of the industry and bringing back with them lots of useful information about our community and the goal of getting everyone a home of their own.
