So, you decided to pick your leaders early. Though your ballot is secured, your name confirming that you voted is compiled onto a list.

That list is then given to each political party.

"We try to give them a list every Monday after the busy week," Guam Election Commission Maria Pangelinan said. "They have the list from up until Saturday in Malesso."

That's more than 6,000 names including your birthday, precinct and the date you voted now in the hands of both the GOP and the democrats.

The hundreds more voting early this final week - your names will go to them as well.

Pangelinan said giving your names out, confirming that you voted is a good thing.

"I would think it helps with voter participation," she said. "The parties are working on getting their supporters out. So, if they see the supporters' name is not on the list, I hope that works. I hope the voters know what we want to do is make sure they have the easiest and fastest opportunity to vote."

She said she hasn't heard of any concerns with the list on how it might intimidate voters.

"If it becomes that, I am sure the commissioners will deal with it immediately," Pangelinan said.

She said it's the first time the GEC is giving the parties the names of those who voted early before the general election.

As for what each party does with it?

"We provide that list to the poll watchers on the Republican side so that on election day, when they mention the name of an individual, instead of having a big list to go through and find a name, we've put that into a process where they can have a phone and then look at that list and immediately know if that person already voted and if you need to raise an objection for someone double voting then you can do it," Juan Carlos Benitez of the Republican Party of Guam said. "The other part is you can immediately identify if that person voted, so it gives us a better count of who is left there and who we need to continue to contact. But that list don't tell if they voted for you or not."

Chirag Bhojwani with the Democratic Party of Guam tells KUAM News the list helps them with phone banking.
