It's a second chance to answer to the charges in the murder of 47-year-old Arno Narrhun. Instead, defendant Jerron Walliby made a second attempt to plead for a Superior Court of Guam magistrate judge to let him go.

"My question is why you kept me here. I suffered here," he said. "But I told you that I don’t do anything"

Jerron Walliby spoke with the help of a Chuukese interpreter during a virtual hearing held today before Judge Benjamin Sison.

"I plead that I don’t understand why I am here but all the wrongdoings is from older brother," Walliby said. "I have nothing to do with it. But you kept me here and I am suffering. 314

He pointed the blame onto his brother, Branty Walliby – who is also his co-defendant.

Witnesses told investigators both men were drunk when they allegedly attacked Narrhun on Dec. 11, 2022 in Dededo.

Family members say Narrhun did not know them.

And neighbors contend the Wallibys have been in the area before causing trouble.

During today's hearing, defense attorney Richard Dirkx explained to Jerron Walliby that the process to move the case forward is taking longer than expected. They are trying to find him a new attorney who does not have any potential conflict.

"As soon as we know the situation, you will be the first to find out from us," Dirkx said. "And if we can’t be your lawyers, we will make sure you get one."

Jerron Walliby folded his hands before thanking the court and walking back to his cell.

Branty Walliby was also called in for arraignment.

His defense attorney Terence Timblin told the court they are not ready just yet.

"I’ve had no opportunity to speak with Mr. Walliby whatsoever along with an interpreter so I am going to have to ask that we continue everything," he said.

The Walliby brothers are set to appear back in court on Jan. 19.
