Fire ravages Yigo family's home

A fire Tuesday night burned through at least half of Jonathan Camacho's home in Yigo.
“Engulfed in flames last night, this is what’s is left of one side of the residence, here, on Chalan Somnak," he told KUAM News.
Guam Fire Department fighters responded just after 10 p.m.
It was a heartbreaking moment for Camacho and his family of six.
We met him sitting inside his car at the property.
He's still too shaken up to speak with us on camera.
Their home - made of wood and tin - destroyed.
The family miraculously made it out unharmed.
The fire ravaged the wood-tin structure, leaving debris of clothing and other belongings from inside the home.
Today, Camacho and family are left sifting through the rubble - the years of memories made here and some of their personal items - now gone.
Camacho said he's stunned how fast the flames took over.
Units were able to put it out within about half an hour.
And the Camacho family immediately got the help needed.
The Yigo Mayor's Office and Red Cross Guam are stepping in to assist.
While they pick up the pieces, Camacho is grateful.
"As long as no one was lost to the fire, I’m OK with that," he said. "It’s just a house. We’re okay. We’re still alive, we’re good.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
