Simon Sanchez appointed to Commonwealth Utilities Corporation's board
CNMI Governor Arnold Palacios has appointed Simon Sanchez to the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation's board of directors. Sanchez, a longtime Guam Consolidated Commission on Utilities member, says he is honored to be selected. His appointment fulfills the Commonwealth's requirement that a member of the CUC board should be from off island with utility management experience.
Sanchez said, "You need more than one way to power a boat. The boats of the CNMI and Guam have more than one way to provide energy and then of course we want to look at the distribution system."
Sanchez's appointment requires CNMI Senate confirmation.
