Building futures - that’s what Guam Trades Academy students are doing. The trades academy awarded 15 Guam Department of Education students with level completion certificates today in Tiyan. 30 scholarships were awarded to the GCA Trades Academy. 

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and GDOE acting superintendent Dr. Judi Won Pat, joining officials in honoring them today. Won Pat putting out a call for GDOE's upcoming job fair on the 21st, which seeks to fill facilities and maintenance positions specifically. 

A call to help fix the island’s schools that are home to students like Ariel Cruz, a senior at Tiyan High, and also an aspiring trade worker. She received acknowledgment for construction site safety.

 “It feels really empowering to me, and I love how the other girls are also putting in the work because it goes to show just that women can do everything else, too," she said.
