On Saipan, dozens of community members came together for an Amot Walk led by local healers in collaboration with local organizations.

Moñeka De Oro with the MCCA said, "Earth Day is an opportunity for us to recommit ourselves to protecting our environment, protecting our culture and the life ways that have enabled our ancestors to not just survive here but to thrive in our islands."
That recommittment drawing dozens of residents to northern Saipan for the event led by Yo'amte Frances Meno and Suruhanu Donald Mendiola. "It is important to hold this event for our community to know our culture and our Indigenous medicinal plants that we have here in the island," stated Meno.
Mendiola added, "We are going to educate these people, take them on a tour and teach them about the amot, the types of plants that we can find here."
