Typhoon Mawar shifts north, flash flood warning issued

Conditions are gradually deteriorating across Guam, as Typhoon Mawar makes its final approach.

As of 2 p.m., the storm was located 40 miles east-southeast of Guam.

A flash flood warning has also been issued and will remain in place through Thursday morning. 

The Guam National Weather Service reporting winds are steadily increasing and it is getting louder outside of their Tiyan offices.

Peak winds of 53 mph with gusts to 74 mph were recorded at the NWS facility.

The eye of the storm has nudged a little farther north of the forecast track.

Additionally, areas that will be south of the eye of Mawar should expect torrential rains and long-duration typhoon-force winds.
