Convicted murderer Joshua Palacios denied new trial
The man convicted in the deadly shooting of Keith Castro lost his fight in the Supreme Court of Guam.
Joshua Palacios was denied his request for a new trial on the murder and deadly weapon possession convictions.
The high court handed down its decision stating the trial court’s decision to exclude certain videos and evidence was proper.
The evidence, the defense contends, would have shown motive that co-defendant Thomas Taitano was responsible for the murder.
This means the murder conviction and life sentence stand against Palacios.
It was nearly four years ago, Castro was struck by Taitano multiple times with a baton as the pair fought at A Yigo residence before Palacios pulled the trigger, killing Castro.
