Guam's Roque Martinez opens new boxing gym

He’s Guam’s pro fighter both on the local and international stages. Roque martinez is no stranger to bringing his a-game when it comes to mixed martial arts. Now, he’s reached a new level in his career opening up his own boxing gym right here in Guam to help others with their fitness journey.

Martinez has the trophies and belt to show his longstanding wins as an athlete. And today, his new win comes in the form of this gym in tamuning. "It’s been my whole life just competing and being around fighting for so long. It made sense to surround myself with that, too," he shared.

Welcome to the brand new RM Sports Boxing & Kickboxing Academy. "I’ve always been interested in getting into the coaching side and helping the younger generation and people in general in overall fitness," said Martinez.

A thought that Roque has finally made a reality, saying, "Especially focusing on the stand up aspect like boxing and kickboxing side."

A proud moment for Guam’s champ.

In addition to boxing, his gym offering MMA and grappling techniques as well. "The energy here and the vibes are all good vibes," he said.

Roque focused on helping others learn the skills he’s picked up over the years, all while getting in an intense workout. "I’ve had so many people coming in and they are on the fence but they give it a try. But every person who have tried it have come back and liked it and enjoy it. The numbers we have been having has been cool to see," he said.
