CNMI public school bus drivers undergo fire evacuation training

The CNMI Public School System bus drivers recently underwent fire evacuation training in Saipan. 

The Public School System says it is in an effort to prepare for every scenario ahead of the school year starting in Rota, Tinian, and Saipan next week. 

Bus drivers learned the protocols for evacuation when there’s a fire near or inside the bus. CNMI public school system staff were tasked with rescuing three dummies from inside the bus filled with smoke from a smoke machine. 

Each bus driver who attended was evaluated on the timing and methods of response. 

The local fire department also assisted the school system in their training.
